About the Author


JANET KENNEDY KIEFER

Janet holds a Masters Degree in Education. In addition, she has earned teaching credentials in Elementary Education, Handicapped Learner, Severely Handicapped Learner, and Resource Specialist. Janet  has over 30 years of Early Childhood Education experience having taught in infant, preschool, kindergarten, and Head Start programs. She spent her last twelve years in education teaching high school English. Janet brings a wealth of real world teaching and parenting experience to her writing.

Janet is a wife, mother of two, and grandmother of five. She brings many insights to her stories. Janet’s love of children and storytelling radiate her joy for living. Her stories have value centered messages embedded into engaging, fun, and beautifully told tales that children and their parents are sure to enjoy. Each book includes a glossary of new vocabulary words. Learning new words is fun! Parents and teachers will find extension activities that will continue to allow them and their child to play and learn together. There is a wealth of curriculum information in each book!

Freckles is the first book in a series of Freckles stories. Strolling through hundreds of bright pink Cherry Blossoms on a visit with her first grandchild, Lilah, in Washington D.C. inspired Janet to put a long told family tale on paper. Now Lilah, and little girls and boys everywhere can enjoy this lovely tale for generations to come.
